[comp.sys.sgi] Has anyone gotten Elm working on an Iris?

dhinds@portia.Stanford.EDU (David Hinds) (01/14/91)

I tried building the "elm" mail reader on our 4D, but the MIPS C compiler
can't resolve multiple global declarations of the same identifier, which
elm requires. Has anyone gotten around this by patching the Elm source?
I would prefer not to have to get "gcc" running just for this.

What patch level are you trying to get up and running ?? I have PL11 running on
my 240VGX under 3.3.1.

BTW David, I tried to reply to you by mail but cb-iris.stanford.edu dropped
it on the floor with the following:

***** UNDELIVERABLE MAIL sent to dhinds, being returned by cb-iris!root *****
mail: Error # 2 'Problem with mailfile' encountered on system cb-iris
