We are currently using NAG libraries on a 380 to do general mathematical
functions. It has a set of calls to do LP , and a set of calls for sparse
matrix calculations. However, it does not do LP problems using Sparse Matrix
techniques.
On our IBM mainframe , the research group concerned with these problems is
using a Stanford developed package called MINOS. MINOS does have routines which
solve LP problems using Sparse Matrix techniques. Does MINOS , or an equivalent
package exist on the SGI platform ?? The group would like to move their calcula
tions to the SGI box for greater memory/disk capacity , and less restrictive ti
me limits on the system.
