[comp.sys.sgi] Simple imaging software for Personal Iris ?

Hi.

I am trying to find out any information on imaging software for the
Silicon Graphics Personal Iris workstation. I should say that I am
primarily interested in displaying satellite image data.

The basic functions I require are

- handling of 4, 8, 16 and 32 bit data in 'raw' integer format
- reading images of different heights and widths specified by the user
- subsampling or zooming portions of the image
- displaying imagery in greyscale or false color
- contrast stretching of the image based on a histogram of the image data
- annotation of user defined text over the image

So I guess I am looking for a simple, flexible imaging system that is not
locked into any particular file format. It does not need a lot of bells
and whistles, just the ability to handle different size and data type
imagery. I have been using a program for the IBM-PC called IMDISP which was
written at JPL, and if I could duplicate it on the Iris I would be well
pleased. Needless to say, circumstances don't permit me to write such a
program myself.

Thanks for your time.

Cheers,
Liam.
