[comp.sys.sgi] SUMMARY: Anonymous FTP -- CLARIFICATION!!!!

Regarding permissions on the $HOME/etc directory of the anonymous
ftp account:  my last message stated that I had put permission 555 on the
ENTIRE directory INCLUDING the ./etc and ./group files.  That was true.

I had also said the man pages were WRONG!!!  Well, after reading a few
of the replies, I kept the ./etc directory at 555, then put
both ./etc/passwd and ./etc/group at 444 and it worked.

===>>> The man pages WERE RIGHT!!!  the files should have 444, but the
       directory itself should have 555.
