Below is a ps -l for some process on out machine (4D/240s Irix 3.3.2) F S UID PID PPID C PRI NI P SZ:RSS WCHAN TTY TIME COMD 30 T 1064 12303 12302 0 +30 39 * 2656:1554 ttyq12 50:53 PSVtrav2 30 S 1064 12302 17214 0 +30 39 * 33:33 8014c6a0 ttyq12 0:00 df11198c 30 T 1057 11749 11748 0 +30 39 * 638:504 ttyq12 88:04 xwave 30 S 1057 11748 17214 0 +30 39 * 33:33 8014c6a0 ttyq12 0:00 df2193cc all processes have been stopped for over an hour but the RSS still shows that one is holding a large amount of resident memory. Surely most of the memory of inactive processes should be swapped out? These are actually batch jobs that have been stopped when the queue was closed. Anybody have any ideas?
