a few days ago someone listed a network address for gdiff: 192.248.153.1 this node is unreachable. anyone else having this problem? thanks michael c/o convex!texhrc!mjz

oh well.... gdiff doesn't work on my 4d/25 (3.3.1). i ftp'd from 192.48.153.1 both in binary and not and no luck... i get permission denied.... ?? michael zeitlin at convex!texhrc!mjz

Try chmod +x gdiff That should fix it.

well , i tried.... gdiff doesnt work on my iris (3.3.1) I get: iris%gdiff gdiff: Bad file number. iris% i ftp'ed gdiff from sgi.com....to a third machine (binary set) and then kermitted (binary again..) from that third machine to mine... i've done this before with other code and it always worked... is there anything else i need to do? michael zeitlin convex!texhrc!mjz

I'd like some new options. Instead of highlighting the entire line like diff would, only high light the differences (at a character level). It would also be nice if there was an option to ignore blank lines in the comparisons. Some of these options are in a program call spiff. I don't know were spiff came from, but a graphical (as in gdiff) version of spiff would be great. Brent L.
