[net.micro] Obscure microprocessor chip needed

vince@fluke.UUCP (Craig V. Johnson) (10/15/84)

Sorry to bother everyone else but I couldn't find a return path to mitccc or
mit-charon.

The question was what is a uCOM-43 and where could a replacement be found.
The uCOM-43 is a single-chip 4-bit PMOS (CMOS version also) processor made
by NEC. It is a masked program part w/ 2K x 8 internal ROM. I suspect that
the only place that you will be able to get it from is the stereo manufacturer
(who wasn't being helpful). I doubt that contacting NEC directly will do
any good, but just in case, here is their address-

		NEC Electronics USA Inc.
		Microcomputer Div.
		1 Natick Executive Park
		Natick, MA 01760
		(617) 655-8833

Good luck.
