John, The discussion (a few months ago) pointed to the fact that Hitachi chips were NO good, but that Toshiba one were. I spent this morning trying to put "NEC" 4 Meg SIMMs in a 4D/25G. They do NOT work either!!!! (the system does not recognize them if the first bank is the NEC chips, but recognizes them as 1 Meg if the first bank is some of the original 1 Meg chips...) Tomorrow is our last day for this fiscal year (the canadian's government's fiscal year is from Apr 1 -> March 31, and this week-end is a 4-day long week-end), and the vendor is coming tomorrow with another make of chips (he pronounced them something like "OKay"). We will be trying them at that time... Let me know what else you find out. Thanks, Claude Cantin National Research Council of Canada
