[comp.sys.sgi] IRIS showcase

atchity@TC2.CHEM.IASTATE.EDU ("Gregory J. Atchity") (03/01/91)

We just recieved our copies of the new Showcase package today. I eagerly
installed it on my PI and began to play. Only a few minutes into a simple
pi chart I found to my dismay that Showcase doesn't rotate text objects.
This seems like a rather serious shortcoming. What is so complicated about
rotated text? Or am I reading the manual wrong?

Manual page 3-52 says (as you state) "Objects that won't rotate (text, images,
and 3D viewers) have a square handle". I agree, what is so hard about
rotating text?

NB. This program looks great!

Folks,

How do I create 3D models so that I can use them in IRIS showcase?
Which package should I use? Are there any public domain packages?
