Last week I posted an article about the Convergent Technologies Megaframe that our office has been using for a large project. The article came across in a way that was not intended and I wish to clarify what I wrote. 1. The opinions expressed in the article were my own and not that of my employer or even of my work group officially or unofficially. 2. The article came across as a flame in its language although my purpose was not to be critical of any individuals nor to anger my employer's business associates. My purpose was to get in contact with other users of the Convergent Tech. MegaFrame and see what their experience has been in order to provide mutual benefit in dealing with any difficulties with the product. 3. There are lots of positive things I have to say about Convergent Technologies, their staff and their product. Even though we have not purchased our MegaFrames directly from Convergent Technologies (but rather through an OEM), they have provided us with excellent support. We have received from them special releases of the operating system just to deal with certain problems only we were experiencing due to the unusual configuration of our system and the demands we were placing on it. On several occasions senior engineers came on-site to work with us to resolve some of the difficulties we were experiencing, often for long hours on a weekend!! Without exception, every engineer that I had opportunity to work with was highly qualified and easy to work with. 4. My personal opinion is that the modularity and expandability in the architecture of the MegaFrame along with the support we have gotten from Convergent (and our OEM) leads me to believe that we have made a good choice in selecting the MegaFrame for our project. -- Rob Bernardo, Pacific Bell, San Francisco, California {ihnp4,ucbvax,cbosgd,decwrl,amd70,fortune,zehntel}!dual!ptsfa!pbauae!rob
