I just installed a Silicon Graphics Personal Iris 4D/35. We are going to need to find a way to put it on our AppleTalk network, if possible. We have an Ethernet drop in the cube that accesses our campus-wide network, and also have a few Macs with Ethernet cards as well as AppleTalk access. The main goal is to be able to have printed output on our LaserWriters, without having to put a printer off the 4D/35 directly. Also, it'd be nice to move files back and forth somehow (NFS mountable partition?). Can this be done? Is there specific software for the Iris (or the Mac) that would allow the connections to be made? The PI is running IRIX 3.3.2 with a 1.2 gig drive, 150 meg tape, and 16 meg of memory. Thanks in advance for any pointers. Please E-mail, as I am still trying catch up with the backlog in comp.sys.sgi! Paul meg of memory. -- | Paul E. Jacoby, 3M Company | | | Maplewood, MN 55144-1000 | Parachuting?
