I bought the DWB for my 4D/25 but due to a misunderstanding with the
dealer do not have the SGI package to generate PostScript output. Since
my troff needs are simple (straight text, no graphics or other fancy
stuff) I thought that I might sidestep a fight over who pays for the SGI
interface by installing the PD (C. Lewis) psroff package. I have
version 3.0, but before wading in I thought I would check on whether
anyone else has installed this on a PI and might be able to give me hints
on configuration, etc.
Drivers and so on are not an issue, since the PS files have to be FTP'd
to another machine for printing. The troff|psroff programs will be used
only to convert nroff files to PostScript, and we have no other printers
to support so only the psroff fonts are needed.
No one here has ever installed any of this stuff before, so KISWS (Keep
it simple, we're stupid).
