Irix 3.3.2, 4D/310VGX First Question: A while back some kind soul (whom I can't credit because his article has expired) suggested the following simple fix to get a Meta key for emacs, tcsh, and the like. > keysym Alt_L = Meta_L > keysym Alt_R = Meta_R That works as advertised, but on my machine I now get a speaker beep on every *second* keypress made while the *left* Meta key is down (but not the right Meta key). This happens in xterm, emacs, xev, even when I type into the X background. What's the story here? Second Question: The Caps Lock key doesn't work as it should. As long as I hold it down, it does alright. But it won't lock down: as soon as I release the key, the keyboard reverts to the unshifted state. This behavior holds for xterm, emacs, and xev, but not for wsh. Any ideas here? As always, thanks in advance for straightening out the newly-sgi-ed. Bill Nowlin My opinions are mine.
