Hi Disc Fans,
This is your friendly Mid-Atlantic regional coordinator again.
So far I've received over 16 responses to my first posting of the
idea of a disc newsgroup. The best name looks like: 'net.rec.disc'.
This will include all disc sports
Ultimate - Teams sport played with 7 players.
Golf - Golf game using a disc.
Freestyle - Executing tricks with a disc - lots of fun.
Canine - Disc tricks with a dog.
Discathon - Individual running and throwing event - new.
MTA - Maximum Time Aloft individual sport.
Distance - Distance throwing.
Guts - High speed throwing and catching.
I'm probably missing some, its hard to keep up on all of them. Sorry about
the simple explainations.
I can see this newsgroup being used for many things:
Announcements - Announceing Tournaments Coming up.
History - Posting Results of Tournaments
Team Lists - Getting info about local teams to play.
Team Posting - Announceing new teams.
Rules - Rules discussion and posting.
Meetings - Announcing [Captains] Meetings.
I would be very glad to coordinate this newsgroup and make it productive!
I'll need some help in finding teams and players on the network, so if you
know of any Ultimate teams or individual disc players please tell them about
this possible new newsgroup. I can use your help also in posting YES votes
for 'net.rec.disc', Thanks!!!! By the way does anyone know who we are
posting these votes to? Will he respond someday or what?

How about spelling "net.rec.disc" "net.rec.disk". When I first saw the title, I thought it was "discussions about net.rec" (much like net.jokes.d).
