SGI/Transcript persons, We're trying to install transcript on our PI. Setting up the lp spooler was no problem, it now works like a charm. The trouble comes when we try to set up lpr to use transcript. The jobs stay in the print queue, and we get an "lpr: output filter died" in the SYSLOG. When we try to run some of the filters (psof, etc) by hand, we get core dumps. We'd like to get lpr running so we can print remotely (and I do not want to be the one to tell people to learn lp just to print on this machine). I've reported the bug to SGI, and they tell me that they know about it, but that's about all they're willing to do. Before I once again postpone graduation and go mucking about with dbx, does anybody have a fix for this bug? Thankyou much, -- _______________________________________________________________________ | Bill Reynolds | bill@inls1.ucsd.edu
