[comp.sys.proteon] memory on p4200

ABSTINE@CLVMS.CLARKSON.EDU (AB Stine) (12/12/87)

just out of curiosity, what is the maximum amount of memory that
can be put on the current p4200's?

There isn't a simple answer to that question, I'm afraid. The
answer depends on a lot of variables, among them how much money you want
to spend. I will note in passing that the memory on the serial line cards
was recently (Rel7.4) moved from 1MB up to 8MB or so.
By the way, when Milo was talking about large DECNets, he meant
LARGE. NASA runs a DECNet (SPAN) which is international in scope and contains
a very large number of nets, so he's a bit of an unusual case.

Noel is quite right, our DECNET community is very large, and so I gave you
a non-typical answer. Your mileage will certainly vary....
