Our p4200 is sending out ethernet packets using protocol 7030. Both the source & destination fields appear to have the first three octets of the p4200's hardware address plus three zero octets. For example, an arp shows: pro (192.31.154.9) at 2:7:1:1:b9:f2 temporary and the packets we are seeing look like: dst src proto 2:7:1:0:0:0 2:7:1:0:0:0 7030 With the first part of the data looking like: 0001 0203 0405 0607 0809 0a0b 0c0d 0e0f 1011 1213 1415 1617 1819 1a1b 1c1d 1e1f Total data length of 60 bytes. Frequency of these packets: every 4 seconds Now, if I didn't know better, I would say that the p4200 is learning to count. I would appreciate any information about what is happening. It's part of the interface maint... The IL 3010 series boards do that when you send a test message. It is obnoxious, and I believe Proteon can disable this feature when they build you a load, if you request it. Most of the time, it doesn't hurt anything though... Milo
