When switching similar configurations and lines between 7.4b and 8.0, there is a very noticeable rise in the reported number of TX underruns. I interpret these transmitter underruns to be caused by the USART running out of data before the CPU could load more data. Is this an indication of some sort of priority or scheduling problem? 2. The console inactivity timer in 8.0 appears to be reset only by keyboard input. When you are in T2, monitoring line traffic, there are long periods of keyboard inactivity while still produc- ing meaningful output. The inactivity timer triggers and shuts the connection down. I do not accept that the solution to this problem should be the global disabling of the inactivity timer by the operator, even on a temporary basis. ----------------------------------------------------------------------- Real Name : Stanfield L.
