At the Proteon Users Group (PUG) meeting in Boston it was stated that Proteon would NOT be supporting their "proteon specific variables" under SNMP in the 8.1 release but would be supporting them under SGMP transitionally. This was not well received in some corners of the user world. A concise rational case was made by a number of groups that this was not a good idea. I now have it on good authority from Proteon that they WILL be supporting their variables under SNMP in the Enterprise portion of the MIB tree. This is good news. Marty
