We have been experiencing the following problems with CHAT while using
NSCHAT, and the VT100 emulator under KOTO to talk to a VAX/VMS4.4 host.
We use tt our inWe use 1186s at our installation.
Have any of you seen these? Any fixes/ advice would be gratefully
appreciated!
1. CHAT insists on supplying the full username:domain:organization to
the VMS host upon login. This causes an annoying user authorization
failure at login.
2. When the MAIL command on tVMS is invoked the system apparently tries
to write the first character of the 'Mail' prompt to the LEFT of the
left margin of the CHAT window. This causes a break: 'Non-Numeric
Argument, ITIMES broken'.
3. The VT100 emulator seems to have some other quirks. For example, Ctrl-U
does not wipe out the current line, it skiips one line and puts out a new
prompt.
I tried to fix the first two problems but ran into difficulties because
of my inexperience and also because much of the code is compiled.
