[comp.sys.xerox] LispUsers TOC & new Module

LANE@SUMEX-AIM.STANFORD.EDU (Christopher Lane) (03/23/88)

Once again, despite the current alphabetical-only trend, I've created an
alternate table of contents for the LispUsers manual (for Lyric this time)
with the packages arranged/subdivided by functionality (similar to the TOC for
the Koto LispLibrary manual).

This time around, the TOC makes slightly better use of TEdit and is less
sensitive to printer variations although there are a small number of page
breaks that were made based on the Interpress output which may need to be
adjusted. The TEdit document uses HRULE and the Xerox logo font. The files
LISPUSERSINDEX.TEDIT and LISPUSERSINDEX.IP (they should be LISPUSERSTOC but I
decided to be consistent with what I called them in Koto) are available via
anonymous FTP from SUMEX-AIM.Stanford.EDU on the <LISPUSERS.LYRIC> directory
(for local Stanford KSL users I'll be getting copies made and put into the
Lyric LispUsers manuals being distributed).

Also, due to a small spark of interest, on SUMEX-AIM LispUsers I've put a
cleaned up and updated version of a program I abandoned over a year ago which
uses COURIERSERVE to allow one workstation to monitor the display of another.
The program uses two windows, one with a shrunken image of the entire remote
display and another with a small area of the remote display at normal size.
You can select the area covered by the normal size window by selecting in the
shrunken image. Documentation (with illustration) is also included.

I've put the files MONITOR.LCOM & .TEDIT on <LISPUSERS.LYRIC> on
SUMEX-AIM.Stanford.EDU (there is also a compatible MONITOR.DCOM on
<LISPUSERS.KOTO>). Stanford folks can get the files from LispUsers on the
XDE: file server. As I've never considered this program 'finished', I'd be
interested in suggestions as to additions, modifications and/or new directions
(but I make no promises...).
