[This message is only of interest to sites with Lyric Sources, Lyric LispUsers and access to the ARPA net.] There is now a NEW-WHERE-IS database available for the Lyric sources. This corresponds to the file SYSTEM.WHEREISHASH distributed with sources, but is for use with the LispUsers module NEW-WHERE-IS rather than the Library module WHEREIS. The database is available through anonymous FTP as pub/lyric.hash on PARCVAX.Xerox.COM. It is nearly two megabytes long. NEW-WHERE-IS (like WHEREIS) enables the file manager to know of far more definitions than just those in the files in FILELST. When system sources are available this allows one to edit any definition in the system. While WHEREIS only gives access to FNS definitions, NEW-WHERE-IS provides access to all file manager types. Doug
