I'm experiencing the following malfunction when I use CMLarrays on the 1100's: when I run a function that I have written, in which Common Lisp arrays are used intensively, after a while it happens that the machines gets stuck (i.e. the cursor doesn't move, even if I move the mouse; furthemore the system error code 9305 is visualized, on the LED display if I'm using a 1109 or in place of the cursor on 1186s). Following the user manual I switch to TELERAID (pressing the UNDO key) and break using Ctrl-B. The break is always under functions which allocate space for new CML arrays (either make-array, in which case I have an \ALLOCHUNK broken, or copyall in which case I have a \COPYDATATYPE broken). This doesn't happen every time the mentioned functions are invoked, but after a consistent computation, during which the same functions have been invoked several times. After the error has occurred for the first time, it's not possible to create CML array (at least with COPYALL or MAKE-ARRAY) without incurring in the same error situation again, and sometimes the error occurs even if I simply inspect a COPYALL entry in the BREAK window. I have tried different KOTO sysouts on both 1109s and 1186 with substantially the same results, so I suppose that it's not due to a corrupted sysout. Has anybody alse experienced (and possibly solved) analogous problems? Does anybody know a solution to them? Thanks. Enrico Carrara carrara sumex-aim@stanford.edu -------
