Supposedly I am on this list, but I haven't received any messages for a week. So here's a question: What will performance of Medley Loops on a Sun/4-110 be like? I'm getting 8 Mb local memory and running diskless with a Sun-3/160 as server. I'll have two of these Sun-4's running off the same fileserver and other people are using the fileserver too. In fact, someone wants to do work on the fileserver as a regular workstation, too. The only positive note (in terms of disk performance) is that our application will probably be small most of the time - a small inference engine and software hopfully, and later the knowledge base will get big. But we could always develop with a small KB and only load the complete KB when testing or demoing. My estimates suggest that normally 8MB of local memory will keep the Sun-4 from paging very much until the application grows above 2 Mb of resident set size. Anyone have anything to say about this? Thanks, Steve Clark
