I downloaded jovedoc.arc and joveexe.arc. However, neither pkxarc nor arc will extract these archives. Can anyone tell me what will? Thanks, Eric M. Boehm

Boehm All ARC files on SIMTEL20 will extract with ARC, ARCE or PKXARC. If you cannot extract the member files there must be a problem with the way it was transferred via FTP or to your micro. The ARC files are stored as BINARY(8) on SIMTEL20 even though this is a 36-bit machine. You must set FTP to the correct binary mode. Don't use IMAGE unless you are on Tops-20 machine. If you use Kermit to transfer to your micro you MUST specify SET FILE BINARY to the mainframe Kermit. --Keith Petersen

Then you File Transfered and/or downloaded them wrong. ARC or PKARC will unARC them if they are transfered intact, binary, image mode, etc and not FTPed thru IBM Maimedframe systems. Cheers, Gern -------
