[comp.sys.zenith.z100] Kermit V 2.3

DANTE@EDWARDS-2060.ARPA (Mike Dante) (02/13/88)

When I saw the notice that Version 2.30 of Kermit had been released, I down-
loaded the Generic MS-DOS version from Columbia. But when it comes up on the
Z-100, it gives a message: "Command not implemented" as it reads the INI file.
And then it will not allow me to set the baud rate (also "Command not
implemented") and will not talk with the other host even if I set up the
connection with the old Kermit. If I try to send a REMOTE command, it asks
for a file handle, accepts 3, then announces it is unsuccessful at talking
to the remote host.

Does anyone have any idea how to install Kermit 2.30 on the Z-100?

Thanks,
Mike

You got the wrong version of Kermit. There is a specific Z-100 version
available from Columbia (FTP or BITNET/KERMSRV). The filename that you
want is MSTZ10.BOO. It's a test version for the Z-100, but it seems to
work pretty well.
