There is a file with one-line file descriptions of *some* of the MSDOS files at SIMTEL20. Filename Type Bytes CRC Directory PD1:<MSDOS.FILEDOCS> IBMFEB29.ARC BINARY 127721 BA09H <--GEnie IBM RT file desc MSDOS.HDR ASCII 129 64C1H <--Header for PC-File+ NODSCRIB.IDX ASCII 54941 08C1H <--Files without descriptions SIMIBM.IDX ASCII 51875 0F67H <--Files with descriptions These are all updated monthly. The last three in that list are intended for use with Jim Button's PC-FILE+ database program although the IDX files are comma-delimited and could be used with any database program that can import them.
