Recently, while helping one of our doctors install a hard disk in his XT clone, it struck me that the controller was small enough to be attached to as S-100 card and have plenty of room for routing connections an possible additional support chips to make it compatable with the S-100 buss. What I have in mind is to make a cut-out in an S-100 card, put a PC/XT connec- tor in the bottom of the cut-out and make the appropriate cuircut connec- tions. A plastic channel could be anchored across the top of the card. Of course the metal anchor bracket on the end of the card would have to be removed for this to work properly. The big question, is there some significant difference in the signal/ control requirements of the XT controller which makes this impratical or impossible? Also, has anyone tried this and what was the result; does it work or not? Al Holecek SAC.DYESGPF@E.ISI.EDU
