Hello everyone,

I have been on the edge of over worked and I have had little time
to even login for the past 3 weeks, but I want to take the time to
respond to Al Holecek's msg.

I have some preliminary sketches on just such a half-size-PC in a
S-100 card carrier. Most of the logic isn't too bad, but bus contension
must be dealt with in address spaces (how does the S-100 card know
that it's PC card wants it to drive the bus...). My objective is
to card a PC Ethernet controller for the S-100. The sectoring of
the Z-100 is one more sector/track than a PC (which is why a Seagate
ST-225 is 20.0 MB on a PC and 22.5 MB on a Z-100), as well as a high
speed TMA Z-100 controller vs a WD PC HD controller, making using a
PC HD card a software nightmare on a Z-100. Note that UCI Easy Win
uses an S-100 card to a ribbon cable to a PC controller with software
torture...

Past info:

CHUGCON was a flop and a waste of time.

I bought PROSCAN which is an baby board for the video that allows
640x512 (8 colors of course) on a Multiscan monitor to be non-interlace,
flicker free and rock solid.

The HZ100 PD lib on SIMTEL20 needs cleaning and submission control. Some
new stuff put there by SIMTEL20 doesn't even work or duplicates stuff
already there.

I added two jumpers to my Z-205 card to allow the card to be enabled/
disabled thru its address latch and it defaults to OFF. This allows
CP/M-86, CCPM, MPM, etc to boot with a Z-205 card, the boot monitor
and MS-DOS thinks that RAM=768K so RAMLIM is not required, I modified
MDISK to turn the Z-205 card ON, video OFF only during MDISK access,
and ZPC will run without mods. All this allows a clean overstuffed
RAM (768K on motherboard plus 224K on Z-205 that will only be used
when called for). Running a 224K MDISK no longer requires RAMLIM to
work right.

I met a super guy at CHUGCON that buys H-89 and Z-100 stuff to make
parts available for everyone. His small company is selling

Z-205 256K S-100 RAM card for $125.00

Z-100 Power Supplies $125.00

Also lots of other Z-100 stuff, used machines, data separator cards
(if available). He guarentees the stuff works or he will replace
it. A friend bought a data sep which failed after a day or so and
he exchanged it for a working great one with no problems.

sent you... (maybe he'll remember me...).

I removed all SEA programs from the HZ-100 PD LIB distribution disks,
I also upgraded some programs and added a few more. NOTE: the
SIMTEL20 directory does not yet reflect these changes.

I fully support Phil Katz PKWARE as long as it will run under Z-100
MS-DOS.

Enough for now, time to go to my grad class...
