[comp.sys.zenith.z100] Fast assembly language screen writes for Turbo Pascal

W8SDZ@WSMR-SIMTEL20.ARMY.MIL (Keith Petersen) (12/22/88)

If you are a Turbo Pascal programmer you will want to look at:

Filename Type Bytes CRC

Directory PD1:<MSDOS.TURBOPAS>
TAVIDEO.ARC BINARY 24992 6EA4H

available via standard anonymous FTP from SIMTEL20 or via the BITNET
file servers.

This is a public domain set of assembly language routines for direct
screen writing from Turbo Pascal. It's very impressive in its speed.
When you run the demo program press any key to go to the next screen.

The fast assembly language video routines for Turbo Pascal that I
announced yesterday have been updated, thanks to David Kirschbaum.

Directory pd1:<msdos.turbopas>
TAVID12.ARC	Fast video routines with demo [TASM,MASM source]

Archive includes the original files from TAVIDEO.ARC
(written for the TASM compiler), plus new versions
		for MASM.

Excellent fast assembler video routines for mono,
CGA, EGA. Well documented, nice demo. Compliments
to the author (original credits maintained in docs
and source). Everything works just fine with my cheap
		Hercules-compatible monochrome graphics card; can't
		speak for CGA, EGA.

Thanks, David! This replaces TAVIDEO.ARC.

mlewis@unocss.UUCP (Marcus S. Lewis) (12/24/88)

Would it be asking too much to get the words "PC" included in the
Simtel20 posting notifications? I have a real Z100 (and this IS
the Z100 group) and I get all excited occasi onally, only to be disappointed
when I read the notice and realize the assumption it that one has
a "PC". Again, this IS the Z100 group. If more sources were included
in the simtel20 postings, I might get more out of it.

Marcus, I make an effort to screen the new Simtel20 posting
notifications so that only those programs which are generic MSDOS are
announced to Info-HZ100.

In the care of the fast assembly language screen writes for Turbo
Pascal, I realized that this was PC-Compatible specific. However,
because source code is included in this archive I made an exception,
feeling that it would be a golden opportunity for someone to port it
to the HZ100.
