[comp.sys.zenith.z100] Z-205 memory boards

McGuffey@DOCKMASTER.ARPA (MAJ David McGuffey) (12/21/88)

A while back someone was looking for Z-205 memory boards. I have two
which have come available. They are both modified to run as 1 meg with
the FBE kit, and I can send them in the modified state (less the 256KB
chips), or I can return them to 256KB (with 64KB chips). E-mail to
mcguffey@dockmaster.arpa or call 301-498-1466.

I have a Z-158 XT with 512K in the system memory board. My machine was
purchased with 256K and expanded to 512K. Now, I have one bank of 256K chips.
I want to put them into the machine to have total 768K memory. However, as my
understanding, DOS can only address up to 640K. What about excess 128K?

My hope is to use those 128K as expanded memory. I don't know your Z-205 is
capable to do such thing. (Memory Backfilling). Please reply to my at this
address or Bitnet address - 15360JIM@MSU.BITNET. Happy New Year!
