My printer is probably 6 or 7 years old and has been absolutely trouble-free. But the platen and pressure rollers are starting to get hard, and when I'm not using pin-feed paper it sometimes slips. What is the best way to clean and soften it? I seem to remember that in the old days we used carbon-tet, but I know it is taboo now. I'd like to bring it back to life without paying the big bucks I assume are required for new parts. Alcohol appears to clean the platen but doesn't do much to improve the "grip". Suggestions? ---- Don Malpass [malpass@LL-vlsi.arpa], [gandalf mailbox dead for now] You know you're making progress when you get back to where you were three weeks ago. 5/89 & 6/89
