Hello,
With everyone out there talking about uping the speed
of their machines to the 8 to 10 MHz range, has anyone
played with the 8085 side after this speed upgrade? I
still use CPM-85 (not often, but every now and then)
and would be hesitant to give this up.
Thanks,

Scott, The 8/10MHz speed increases only affect the 8088/8087 CPU side. The 8085 always will remain 5MHz (the fastest Intel sells, I think). Because the 8085 calls routines to the 8088 for screen I/O, some speed increase in CP/M-85 would show. No matter what speed the 8088 is at, you will still be able to run CP/M-85 normally. If I had to use CP/M, I would use CP/M-86 which will run CP/M-85 programs (swithes to the 8085) as well as CP/M-86 programs. Cheers, Gern -------
