I have recently acquired a couple of old z100s from a local shop uptown. After a great deal of cleaning and -hacking- I was able to install MS-DOS (Z-DOS) 3.1 on one of the two hard drives (hourra!) but I was unable to prep nor repartition the drives (no software that fit the names in the manual. I'm going to need some help in getting these two machines up an running, so if anybody can help me out, please do... Here are the specs for both machines: Zenith z100 (all in one package) 1 5.25" 360K floppy drive 1 30? Meg drive from Tulin Corporation a multitude of replacement parts RGB interface clock (does ZCLK II sound right????) 448K memory 64K color some kind of light pen interface both machines are identical as described above... What I would like to get my hands on is: 1: IBM PC compatibility upgrades (is it possible?) 2: A version of Kermit for it 3: some hard disk utilities (so I know what the sam-he!! I destroying) 4: the latest version of MS-DOS (Z-Dos) for it. - I have MS-Dos 4.01 on my 486 and I kinda like it.... 5: where can I get a list of software (Freeware, Shareware, Store Stocked)? 6: One of the two z100s seems to have some stuff about a company name BCS on it. I do know that at on time the two were networked and used in a library together, but I have no clue, whether or not to save the data on the 2nd machine. Its the one that seemed to have a bunch of specialized software to which I have no need for. Any clues? 7: Is there a ftp site for z100 stuff?? (or am I asking for too much?) Personal E-Mail would probably be better, but I'll take any kind of assistance I can get. One last question, does Zenith still have technical support for these babies and/or did I waste $500 for the 2? Thanx ahead of time for any assistance. David William Wrage a.k.a.
