How do you get S-100 RAM recognized in an HZ100 ? The boards I have worked in someone else's HZ100, but are not recognized in mine. I used the same switch settings and put them in random slots using V2.5 of the monitor ROM and MS-DOS V2.21. Is the RAM configured by MS-DOS or the monitor ? Thanks, rcs

; ... ; (stick cards in any where). If both Z-100s have the same amount ; of maximum RAM (192K old chipset 64Kx1 DRAMs or 768K new chipset ; 256Kx1 DRAMs) and the cards work in one but not the other, ; perhaps the working unit has a slower system clock (5MHz). ; ; What size RAM does each unit have? Boot Monitor <S>? The systems are both old motherboard 192K DRAM configurations. Neither have had their clock speeds modified since the factory. His was a low-profile with ROM version 1.2 and MS-DOS V2.13. Mine is an all-in-one with ROM version 2.5 and MS-DOS V2.21. This really stumps me since mine is all later revisions. I have to check with him, by my monitor <S> comes up with: 128kb of contiguous RAM 32kb Video memory Monochrome Thusfar I am stumped ! Each RAM card has 64kb of static RAM on it. What do you think the addresses of such beasts should be set for ? Regards, rcs
