klr@hadron.UUCP (Kurt L. Reisler) (10/27/87)
I have 2 DEC Rainbows. Both are (now) 100B's with a 10Mb and a 20Mb disk respectively. Both are full-time FidoNet nodes. The Bear's Den (1:109/74) has been running at home for the past 3+ years without any major problems. The Pot of Gold (1:109/483) has been running at the office for the past 2 years. Both systems have a lot of P/D software, with the emphasis (naturally) leaning toward the RAINBOW and GENERIC MSDOS software. There is more software on 109/483, as it has twice the disk space. The Pot of Gold is tied into both the RAINBOW and VAX echomail conferences (echomail is a lot like net.news). Feel free to call either or both systems. The Bear's Den supports 300/1200/2400 baud, while The Pot of Gold supports 300/1200 baud.
