Using ASMGEN, I built a .SEQ file to disassemble the Rainbow 8088 BIOS, putting in addresses and names for the locations. I am working on one for my BIOS changes, and another for Version 3.1 of the BIOS. Does anyone know the legalities of posting these files? Is there a "standard" disassembler (similar to ASMGEN) for disassembling the Z-80 code, so I can build the equivalent of ASMGEN's .SEQ files for the Z-80 code? Anyone willing to build a new formatter for the Rainbow and post it public domain, so I can put in my changes to allow it to format double- sided disks? Disassembling the DEC formatter and modifing it is a pain, and also has copyright problems when distributing it. It also needs to read the hard disk home block to get disk information off the disk, instead of assuming 4 heads and other things. Maybe FDISK in version 3.1 takes care of this problem, or the new formatter does, but no sources are available. How much can we do to keep the Rainbow alive, without getting sued by DEC? Anyone interested in building new Rainbow hardware? Richard Thomsen Mountain Route Box 234 Jemez Springs, NM 87025
