I need an appointment calendar that sounds an alarm when the next event will occur no matter what I am doing on my PC. Desk has something like this, but you have to have the anlog clok displayed as I remember. I thought I was going to be pleasantly surprised when I found AN (ample notice) on one of the Rainbow bulletin boards, but found that it was IBM only. Is there something I have missed or is this an area that needs work? -- Stan Dutler There ya go man, Keep as cool as ya can ..ihnp4!ihuxz!dutler Face piles of trials with smiles

Stan, Re: Appointment calendar programs... I haven't seen such a beast that will run "in the background" specifically for the Rainbow. I'll check around. However, two other possibilities come to mind: first, use TODO V2.7C by Dick Danek (of Digital Equip- ment Corp.). TODO is a first-rate, priority-based time management system (with calendar functions and such built in). Secondly, use the public domain ALARM.EXE (Alarm Daemon V3.4 by Brent A. Cheikes) which was written for the IBM PC but works just fine on the Rainbow. When it goes off, it beeps and places "Alarm!" on the screen. I suppose it could be patched. If anyone wants these utilities, please e-mail or post a message.
