[comp.sys.dec.micro] EMACS.RC and bindings

GTHEALL@PENNDRLN.BITNET (George A. Theall) (05/24/88)

Sorry to post to the entire net, but... my mailer won't recognize
Dave Willcox's e-mail addresses. The message might be of interest
to others, also.

David,

I have been using the microEMACS you sent, and it seems much
improved over v3.7i. I'd like to, however, rebind some of the
function keys, and none of the Ctrl+keys seems to be rebindable.
Do you have the same trouble? There was a bug in v3.7 (in BIND.C)
that caused a similar problem, but I thought it had been fixed
in later versions. If it is still there and you are interested
in recompiling, let me know.

I haven't looked at BIND.C in v3.9e. Perhaps there is no bug,
perhaps I'm doing something else wrong. But if I try to specify
^XFNL for ctrl-<HELP> EMACS takes it to mean ^XF, which is
not the same.

George
