[comp.sys.dec.micro] Needed: A Program to Read/Write PRO3xx and VMS RX50s.

jto@santra.HUT.FI (Jari Tomminen) (07/07/88)

Hello, NetLand!

I'm in a need of a program that would run under MS-DOS in
Rainbow (preferably) or PC and would at least write RX50
diskettes to be used in PRO3xx running P/OS and MicroVAX
running VMS. It would be nice though if it could also read
and/or format those disks.

Freeware preferred but information about other programs
gratefully accepted as well.

Please, send responses via E-Mail and I'll make a summary.

Thanks in advance,
Jari.

I don't know about the PRO 350 and P/OS, but you can format the RX50
diskets on the Rainbow under MS-DOS for use by the MicroVax. I had a
friend in another department who manages a MicroVax, and he brought a
stack of 50 disks over and formated them on my Rainbow. He said they
work fine! He said that VMS had no capability to format the RX50 disks,
which I found hard to believe at first, but then I thought, oh yea, that's
the DEC way of thinking.
