GTHEALL@PENNDRLN.BITNET (George A. Theall) (09/14/88)
Is anyone aware of a version of the UUENCODE/UUDECODE and/or ARC utilities running on an IBM 370-series mainframe? I know such things exist for VAXen, how about IBM's? I'm using CMS. I might consider porting something if it's written in pascal or (ugh, blech, ... :-) FORTRAN; no C compiler, though. I just saw a reply to some queries about Rainbow Kermit v2.31. What happened to the originals? When were they sent? Since the mail headers were from the usenet world, I wonder whether messages in comp.sys.dec.micro are being ported to INFO-DEC-MICRO. And vice versa. Anybody know? As for Kermit, it's also available directly from Columbia, either via BITNET using a LISTSERVer or via the ARPA Internet using anonymous login. I can supply details if anyone's interested. What's new in Kermit v2.31 for the Rainbow? TEK graphics emulation? On-the-fly hot key redefinition? I use v2.29 every day and I'm torn between upgrading to get script capabilities yet giving up easy key redefinitions. Does anybody have a preference out there? George P.S. Dale Edwards, I tried e-mailing you some progs but CUNY couldn't connect to your system for 3 days. Drop me a line once you're back on-line and I'll resend. /*--------------------------------------------*/ /* BITNET: GTHEALL@PENNDRLN */ /* INTERNET: GTHEALL@PENNDRLN.UPENN.EDU */ /* SnailMail: Department of Economics */ /* University of Pennsylvania */ /* 3718 Locust Walk /6297 */ /* Philadelphia, PA. 19104 */ /* AT+TNet: (215) 898-6741 */ /* ICBMNet: 39 57 N, 75 11 W, 200 Alt */ /*--------------------------------------------*/
