i would like to vote in favor of a single file posting to the net with ftp available after. ftp just isn't available to a lot of sites. besides, i like the convenience of pulling the file or not on first sight. one thing though... which compressed format to use. a few months ago i pulled a file from this net. the header said it was uuencoded and to use PKXARC to unpack it. after chopping off the routing info and heading statements, PKXARC claimed it could not read the resulting file. when i asked around, i was told that uuencoding requires a uniform line length and that some mailing processes will automatically truncate multiple blanks at the end of lines. the result is to render uuencoded files useless for mail transfer. that is what i was told, and i could not get the file unpacked, so posting it was useless. stan BITNET : XM0P @ PURCCVM (* note, zero, not Oh *) SnailMail : Special Education; Purdue University; W.
