Yesterday, I mentioned on the net the availability of BCK, an alternative to BACKUP under MS-DOS 2.11. Since then, the author of the software, Tom Pfau, has been in contact with me. As I suspected, it IS indeed a DIGITAL internal-only product, and he has asked that it not be distributed. Tom hopes (but cannot guarantee timing due to work pressures) to distribute the latest version, with all known bugs fixed, via the DECUS software library. Sorry if I raised anyone's hopes unduly. There's still Suitable Solutions DOS V3.1 (I have it - it works great - we should all get it, I think, and keep them in business - they're almost the only company still actively doing stuff for the Rainbow), with a much more standard DOS BACKUP than the one DEC provided with 2.11.
