[comp.sys.dec.micro] Brief and Code Blue

PLEZ@ll.arpa (04/25/89)

As I recall, Brief does some pretty heavy messing around with the PC's
interrupts. Code Blue cannot emulate the hardware interrupts exactly,
so programs like Brief have a hard time running. There
is no CB setting that will help, but there IS a Brief flag that will
help. I don't remember exactly what it is, but it might be -k.
Essentially, it tells Brief that you're using a computer
with a non-IBM-standard keyboard, so Brief is a little nicer to the
hardware. I got an older version of it running pretty well, although
I vaguely remember some problem with Brief trashing the floppy disk
driver. It wasn't a problem if you were running from the hard disk.
It was, however, a lot slower than I would have liked.
Hope this helps!
