A few months ago I remember someone asking about patching Turbo C, v2.0, so it could run on the Rainbow. Though I own a copy of it, I haven't tried moving it onto the Rainbow. But scanning the latest issue of _Rainbow News_ I came across two articles about Turbo C, one of which even reports success using Borland's integrated programming environment on a 100A machine! The first article, by Dennis Forcier (# 214-239-2009), talks of a patch to TCC, v1.5, which is required do avoid problems with the Rainbow's use of INT 18h. I'm willing to bet 2 or 3 hours of my time that a similar trick would permit TCC v2.0 to run properly on the Rainbow (should know in a day or two). The second is written by Chris Ryan (sorry, no phone number :-( and reports of his successes in using TC v2.0 on a 100A, apparently under Code Blue and apparently after applying a patch described in an earlier _Rainbow News_ article (vol 5, #4-6, Jun-88, p.57). In another article, Chris mentions that Borland's tech support has not produced any Rainbow compatible software since TP v3.01 because of a bad RX50 drive unit. Anybody interested in taking up a collection for them to get it fixed? (only somewhat :-) )?
