I am collecting large amounts of data, filling up Winchester disks and downloading on to tapes. Rereading these tapes is an impossible task, taking close to forever. The logical solution seems to go to exchangeable optical disks of high capacity and quick readoff. But the DEC people do not seem to want or be aware of this kind of solution. Has anybody out there gotten away with this? How? Thanks! I run both 11/23 and 11/73's. Bob Werman rwerman@hujivms
