Does anyone know of a public-domain program to park the hard disk on a Rainbow? If so, I would appreciate receiving information on availability. My Rainbow 100+ travelled 2500 miles from Toronto to Berkeley without parking the HD (by Allied Van Lines), and experienced no subsequent problems. However, I'm concerned about driving it home from my lab in my tiny Japanese car, given the size of the potholes on Grizzely Peak. But then again, it *did* survive an unscheduled shake test last October 17. Richard Link, Ph.D. Space Sciences Laboratory

Check out Carl Houseman's AUTOPARK.ZIP available via anonymous FTP from the INFO-DEC-MICRO files archive. Look for it in directory [.INFO-DEC-MICRO.MSDOS]. I'm not sure whether this is the current version, but it's reportedly v1.1 with a date stamp of 8/27/87. George P.S. BTW, Richard, you should glance through the next couple of Rainbow EchoMail Digests as the fellows on FidoNet do a pretty good job of responding to questions raised in this forum. I wouldn't be surprised if one of them knows of a bbs in California with SEDT. --- BITNET: GTHEALL@PennDRLS Dept. of Economics Internet: GTHEALL@PennDRLS.UPenn.Edu University of Pennsylvania AT+TNet: 215-898-3419 Philadelphia, PA 19104-3987
