Recently someone gave me an old DEC modem to use with my Rainbow. It is a DEC DF112-AA 1200 baud modem. It appears not to be an autodial modem, rather it seems to require an attached phone to dial. There is a row of LEDs and a row of buttons along the front. Is there anyone familiar with this modem who can tell me what the buttons along the front do? The buttons are labeled as follows: "LL ST RL DL HS Data/Talk" Obviously the HS switches from 300 to 1200 baud and the Data/Talk does just that. But can anyone tell me what the others do? Additionally, the LEDs are labeled: "SD RD CD TR MR OH HS TM" I know the SD, RD, CD, OH, and HS, but can anyone tell me what the others are? I also discovered that ctrl-C toggles from Talk to Data. Can anyone tell me if there are any other keyboard commands the modem accepts? Thanks very much. Chaim

However, the box is the same as for the DF112-AC, so possibly you have an -AC card in the box. If that's the case: ^A Activates the auto dial feature in burst mode. Typically used with computer configurations or intelligent terminals with memory storage. ^B Activates the auto dial feature in interactive mode. (The modem should respond with "Ready".) ^C In manual answer mode, pressing Control C connects the modem to the line without having to access the modem to change from talk to data. P or T Indicates pulse or tone dialing of digits that follow. P is assumed if not specified. = Access pause; causes a pause period of 15 seconds to wait for secondary dial tone. If dial tone is not detected, "No Dial Tone" error message is displayed. # Indicates the end of the number string; start dialing. Example: ^B modem responds with "Ready" T9=5556789# modem dials number and connects
