How does one change the printer or comm port configuration to last through a power-cycle? Using setport I can configure the port for the baud rate, parity, etc, that I need but I can't seem to get them to stick. They have to be re-entered everytime the machine is turned on. Any suggestions? waw

>How does one change the printer or comm port configuration to last >through a power-cycle? You'll need to set these parameters via the <SETUP> key. It's pretty easy to figure how to change the settings. Use the machine for a while until you're sure things are working properly, then go back into the SETUP menu and type <SHIFT><S>, which saves the setup in non-volatile memory (ie, through a power-cycle). You may find, unfortunately, that some programs will set the port to their own, hard-coded, default. I can think of one comm program which does this; there are probably others. Any suggestions? Push F3 (Set-up) and then shift-s. That should save the baud rate and parity, but possibly not some of the other settings (e.g., flow control). frank.mallory@blkcat.fidonet.org -- Frank Mallory at The Black Cat's Shack (Fidonet 1:109/401) Internet: Frank.Mallory@f123.n109.z1.fidonet.org UUCP: ...!uunet!blkcat!123!Frank.Mallory

And after the reset the parameters were back to the default. I think that I forgot to mention in the original posting that this is a Rainbow 100+. If there is some way of setting the parameters in autoexec.bat that would solve the problem as well. Thanks.
