[comp.sys.dec.micro] What is a LPWR / GS-2 board?

ollie@hydra.unm.edu (David Oliver Eisman) (05/26/90)

Hi. I'm tearing apart a 100B Rainbow to clean it and was wondering
what function the following board has:

On side 2 of the board, there's a label that says "LPWR (digital) GS-2"

Side 1 has "5415688" on it, as well as a NEC D7220D-1 8329E9 chip.

Any ideas? Is this some sort of option board?

Thanks

Ollie

I suspect this is the graphic option board as the NEC D7220 is the graphics
controller used on that option

You obviously have a graphics board. The NEC 7220 is the graphics controller
used the Rainbow.

It appears that this is a graphics option board. Now my question is:

What can I do with it? Are color graphics supported? Is any special
software required to d|ive it?

Thanks

Ollie
